Charcuterie BoardCreating a Classic Cheese Platter

How to create a classic charcuterie board:

  1. Choose your cheeses. Add 3 or 4 cheese selections ranging from mild to strong to give your cheese board a good balance. A wedge of brie, a crumbly manchego, a soft swiss and a strong bleu are my go-tos.
  2. Add a couple of meats. Slices of hard sausage, prosciutto, pepperoni, salami.
  3. Fresh & Dried Fruits. Grapes, apple slices, berries, dried apricots, figs
  4. Nuts. Pecans, cashews, walnuts, peanuts. You can go with unsalted, salted or sweet candied nuts.
  5. Honey, jam, chutney. My favorites are fig jam and a red pepper jelly for a sweet and spicy combo. You can also use apple or pumpkin butter for a more seasonal flair.
  6. Olives and pickled veggies.
  7. Crackers and breads
