Family games have become a regular thing in our house. Game night is no longer just a weekend thing, we play games all the time. That’s kinda how it goes with the new normal and finding fun ways to keep kids entertained.
So we’ve tried out a ton of games. From board games to card games and everything in between…. but THIS game is a first. This is the first game that we’ve played that actually uses a real drone. How cool is that?!!!
Family Game Fun
Drone Home is a fast moving game that’s easy to play and tons of fun. The object of the game is to be the first to launch all of your aliens. A drone is attached to the center of a launch pad with four launch ramps. Each player loads their alien and taps the button to try and get the magnetic alien to the center of the launch pad to send the drone into space.
Recommended for ages 8+ because there are small pieces involved and the drone may be surprising for small children. However, with adult supervision and since we can’t keep our youngest away from his big brother, he got to pretend to be a part of the action. And he loved it!
The set-up is simple and easy. Playing the game is super easy as well, but still engaging enough to inspire a solid competition between players. The drone is made to handle all the launch and crash scenarios too. It’s very exciting to watch it take off and land at random. Lots of squeals!
We love this game and give it two big thumbs up! It’s action packed and fun for kids and adults. It’s also quick to play so we can bring it out for just a fast game or watch the kids play again and again.
